16 And Saul's son Jonathan went to David at Horesh and helped him find strength in God.I love the account of David and Jonathan's friendship. Their level of commitment, loyalty, love and respect for each other as brothers in the LORD amazing. What's important in the account of David and Jonathan is the LORD was the center of their friendship. It was their faith in the LORD that bound them together. And this verse, when David was on the run, Jonathan came to him and helped him find strength in God. Isn't that really what Christian friendship is all about--helping each other find strength in God, pointing the other person to God's love and the blessings we have because of Christ.
