I have never been a big frog person, but when I was in Hallmark one time and saw this display of African Dwarf Frogs, I thought they were so cute and that they would make the perfect pets for me. I can't explain why I find them so cute--I think it's because they are so tiny. They are good low maintenance pets--they eat twice a week, and their tiny aquarium needs to be cleaned out every few months. It is fun to watch them swim around and play with each other. Pictured above are Isaiah and Jeremiah.
Usually when I visit a city, I like to check out its zoo. I have been to quite a few zoos, but Brookfield Zoo in IL is still my favorite. There are so many animals there. You can easily spend the whole day there and not see everything. And I love this zoo because they have Tropic World. Tropic World is a created rain forest atmosphere that has many monkeys and gorillas which are my favorite animals. They also have an area called The Living Coast that has penguins, sharks and sea turtles. I like how this zoo is set up, and always enjoy my visits there. I love Golden Retrievers because they are such warm, affectionate dogs. My friend Michal used to have a Golden Retriever named Sam, and after being around that dog and seeing how affectionate and playful he was, I have always thought it would be cool to have one.
Living in the Midwest, seeing a deer becomes pretty common. The house I grew up in has a forest preserve right behind it, so often I could look out our huge windows and see 15 deer at one time out in the backyard. Other people who came over might have been fascinated, but I just got tired of cleaning up the mess out back if I wanted to play badminton or something! But recently my dad told me that he saw a white deer. I thought he meant it was just a lighter shade. But then I saw it--it is really white--like blend in with the snow white. And I was fascinated. I had never seen a white deer before and I found it to be beautiful and kind of weird at the same time. The one time when I was visiting my dad, I saw the white deer but was unable to snap a pic before it took off. But this past time visiting, I saw it and grabbed for my camera and snapped a couple pics. The white deer is cool!
Monkeys and Chimps are my favorite animals to see at the zoo and some of my favorite animals overall. They are entertaining and interesting to watch. And I find them cute. Awesome creatures!
I like cats that aren't standoffish, cats that are affectionate and will come sit in your lap or play with you. The cat in the top picture is my dear friends Cassie and Berto's cat named Snickers. Snickers always comes to me when I'm at Cassie and Berto's house and jumps up on my lap and lies there for awhile.
