What an awesome Wii game. You can choose from various characters like Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, or the various Sonic characters and then do events like running, hurdles, fencing, high jump, archery, swimming, etc. The dream races are cool--it's like Mario Kart where you can get different items to use against your opponents. It's a fun game, and it's fun because it celebrates the Summer Olympics that took place in 2008.

This is a great hidden object game for the computer--the scenes are beautiful. And there are puzzles plus jewel quest games at different points. It's a lot of fun.
I love music, but don't really have any musical talent. So I was pretty excited about Rock Band. I can at least pretend to be a musician, playing guitar or drums or singing songs. My fav is definitely playing the drums. Yes, I'm unleashing my inner rocker. Lots of fun!

Though I an not a good dancer, I love this Wii game. You use a mat with arrows, and have to hit the right steps with your feet and in addition move the remote and nunchuk for the correct hand movements. This Disney version of Dance Dance Revolution features various Disney songs/remixes including, "It's a Small Word," "The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room," "Cruella De Vil," "Hakuna Matata," "Spoonful of Sugar," and one on my favs, "Colonel Hathi's March." There are 40 songs total, many of which must be unlocked in the Groove Mode. You also open different stages, and outfits/Costumes for your Mii (Like a Mickey Mouse costume, Stitch costume, etc.). Since I am such a Disney lover, I thinks it's really cute and enjoy dancing (or my version of dancing anyway) to these songs. It can really be a good workout!
This is a pretty awesome game for the Wii. There are actually several different games on it. But my favorite is definitely the shooting game--there are different stages and you try to shoot stuff like balloons, tin cans, targets etc. The best is the last level where The Mii characters you've created are standing there and UFOs come to take you away and you have to shoot the UFOs down. Though playing alone is fine, it's even more fun to play against someone else where you shoot at the same time and try to get the best score. My mom and I love playing this. The riding the cow game is fun too!
Getting a Nintendo Wii was awesome. I had never played one before but found the technology fascinating. The Wii Sports is so much fun. When you play tennis, you are swinging the remote like you were actually swinging tennis racket to hit the ball. In baseball, you swing the remote like a bat. This works because of a sensor bar that can detect your movements. It's so cool to be able to play this and actually be getting a little exercise. Not as much as if you were playing the sports for real, but still, more than if you were just playing regular video games. The bowling and baseball are cool, but tennis is my favorite. Also included on the game are boxing and golf.
I liked the first Sims and then eventually got the Sims 2 and all the various expansion packs. You can design people, design houses for the people, and control (to some extent) what the people do. It's quite fascinating. You get your people jobs and then you can buy more stuff for their houses. Of course just like real life stuff can happen like job losses, other people not liking you, fires, burglars coming and taking stuff. The goal is to keep your Sims happy and help them achieve their aspirations. I guess I find it fascinating to be able to create this whole little world and people. Hey, it's a nice little break from life. It's very engrossing, and once you get into it, you can find you've spent hours playing.
This is a multi-sport event for athletes with physical and sensorial disabilities. The current explanation for the "para" is that it derives from the Greek preposition meaning alongside or parallel referring to how the Paralympics is a competition held in parallel to the Olympic Games. When I saw the Paralympic coverage of the Beijing '08 games on TV, I was incredibly moved and inspired. The coverage included not just the events themselves, but stories about the athletes and the struggles they had overcome and the hard work they had put it to be at the games. These athletes have so much to teach about determination, perseverance, and courage.
I am so hooked on this computer game! The goal is to swap adjacent gems to match 3 or more sparkling jewels. The more matches made, the higher the score. It can be played in a timed or non-timed mode. This game is so addicting.

This is one of my favorite Olympic sports to watch. The strength, agility, and balance the gymnasts demonstrate is amazing. It's incredible how they can move their bodies and do what they do! Gymnastics is both exciting and beautiful to watch.
I love this racquet sport. This is probably one of my favorite sports to play. I love the feeling of smashing the shuttlecock with the racquet. When I was younger, my friend P.J. and I would play badminton all the time in my backyard. Even though I lost most of the time, I still enjoyed playing it. I try to watch as much badminton as I can when the Summer Olympics are on.
I always look forward to the Summer Olympics and enjoy watching as much of them as I can. I prefer the Summer Olympics to the Winter Olympics. It's really cool to see all these nations coming together and competing to the best of their ability. On my list of things I would like to do before I die, is seeing part of the Summer Olympics in person when it's in the US. I think it would be an incredible experience to be rooting for your country in your homeland like that and to be a part of this great international experience. If Chicago gets to host the Summer Olympics in 2016, I will probably do everything in my power to go. For 2008, to celebrate the Summer Olympics, I hosted an International Party. The people I invited were encouraged to bring food/desserts from the country of their choice, and to be creative. We had eggrolls, sushi, hummus, a Swiss chicken dish, Italian beef and meatballs, sauerkraut, polish sausage, mini tacos and burritos, cheeses of the world, fruit, cannolis, cookies and candies from different nations, wines from different countries, etc. It was quite a nice spread. I found lots of flags of the nations decorations, so it looked pretty festive. And we all enjoyed watching the Opening Ceremonies. It is always fun to see what the host nation does with that, and cool to see the parade of nations and the torch being lit. It was a fun time. Some of my favorite events to watch are gymnastics, some of the track and field stuff, volleyball, and badminton. Now there is more television coverage than ever, so it is awesome to watch lots of Olympic stuff!
This game typically comes already installed on many PCs. I like playing pinball for real, and also enjoy playing video game/computer versions. 3D Pinball Space Cadet is a lot of fun and very addicting!
Skee Ball is awesome! I love playing it when I go to an arcade. You roll balls up an inclined lane trying to get them to go into holes to get scoring. Different holes have different scoring values. If you can get balls into the holes with high point values, you can get a high score and earn lots of tickets which you can then use to buy cheap prizes. I can end up playing Skee Ball for a long time; it's very addicting for me.

In this video game, the player maneuvers Q*bert, an orange creature with a tubular nose, around a pyramid. The purpose is to jump on the squares changing them to a certain color. The formations change, and later on it gets more complicated because if you hop on a square a second time, it goes back to its original color, so you have to be strategic in where you hop. And complicating things more are creatures who will cause you to lose a life if they touch you, like Coily, the purple snake. It's also possible to accidentally cause Q*bert to jump off the edge of the pyramid, which of course results in a lost life. When I was a kid, I had Q*bert for the Atari 2600 (the game came out in '82 originally). A few years ago, I was thinking about this game, and thought it would be so cool to play it again, but I couldn't find it. Then I was at the store the other day and found it for the computer. Q*bert lives! I'm having fun playing again, but it's taken me awhile to get used to controlling him again.Nothing says 80s like Q*bert!

I am so hooked on this game for the computer! My mom saw it one day at the store and thought it looked interesting, so I got it for her for Mother's Day, and we ended up playing it together for hours on end. Basically you have to find certain hidden objects in different scenes (like a produce stand, park, theater, etc.) Some objects are really hard to find because of how they blend into the scene. After you find so many objects, then there is another game--either a word search, or matching game or an unscrambling of a scene you have to do. And it keeps track of how long it takes you to crack the case. It is amazing how addicting this game is.
When I first saw Sudoku, I didn't want anything to do with it. I knew there were numbers involved and I hate math. But my friend Jeannie told me it's not about math, but rather logic. And when she showed me how to do it, I got hooked. The objective is to fill a 9×9 grid so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3×3 boxes (also called blocks or regions) contains the digits from 1 to 9 only one time each. The puzzle setter provides a partially completed grid. There are different skill levels, and sometimes it is really challenging trying to fill everything in. It is fun to do these puzzles by yourself, but it is also fun to compete with a friend where both of you do the same puzzle and see who can complete it first. There are game versions of Sudoku and endless Sudoku puzzle books out there. I really enjoy it.

I think this is one of the coolest game shows. It first aired in December '07 as a week long tournament and came back in April '08 as a weekly show. Two players compete against each other in answering multiple choice questions. The game goes like this, "Before each question is asked, a screen rises between the contestants to hide their answers from one another. The question is read by the host and the contestants use their chips to cover choices, one chip per choice. They may cover any number of choices, provided they have enough chips. After both players have locked in their answers, the screen is lowered so contestants can see each others' choices, and the correct answer is then revealed. Contestants keep chips covering the correct answer, while chips placed on wrong answers are taken by the chip girls. While there is normally no time limit for locking choices in, contestants can "press" each other to impose a seven-second time limit, after which their opponent's answers are locked in automatically. Each contestant has one press per duel. The duel continues until at least one contestant fails to cover the correct answer to a question." So strategy comes in when deciding how many chips to play. Sometimes a person may need to play it safe and cover all the answers to guarantee staying in the game. But if one can use fewer chips initially, he/she has the advantage later on if the other person runs low on chips and can't cover all the answers. The questions can be on history, science, pop culture, etc. I think it's a lot of fun. It can be played online by going here: http://abc.go.com/primetime/duel/index?pn=index You can either play solo or challenge someone else online.
Simple concept--try to knock the puck into the opposite goal using the paddle (mallet). I love how fast paced this can get. This can really bring out my competitiveness! I want to have my own air hockey table someday. That would be so much fun!
This is a great party game. Each player gets cards dealt that are nouns—famous people, places, etc. The players take turns being the judge. The judge picks a card containing an adjective and the other players pick a card from their hand which they think the judge will think is a good match to the adjective card. The cards are mixed up so the judge doesn’t know who gave what card and then picks what he or she thinks is the best match. It’s really hilarious sometimes. And it’s not just about picking a card you think fits well—it’s about knowing how the person acting as judge thinks. It’s a lot of fun.
