31But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.This is why we have the Scriptures--so we can know of our Savior Who died for us. So the Holy Spirit can work faith in us and strengthen that faith through His Word. The Bible is more than a book of stories or a rule book (which many believe). The Bible is God's Word; it is a means of grace.
