A cannoli consists of a tube filled shell of fried pastry dough filled with a sweet, creamy filling, usually containing ricotta cheese or Mascarpone, blended with some combination of vanilla, chocolate, pistachio, Marsala wine, rosewater or other flavorings. Sometimes chocolate chips or cherry pieces are added. It's interesting to get cannolis from different places, cause everyone seems to put their own spin on it. Very tasty!
