This 2006 movie is about William Wilberforce, a Christian, politician, and abolitionist who was responsible for steering anti-slave trade legislation through the British parliament in the 18th/early 19th century. The title refers to the hymn "Amazing Grace" written by John Newton. In the movie, Wilberforce goes to Newton several times for guidance, and the hymn is an inspiration to Wilberforce throughout the years. This movie is very inspiring. Wilberforce had such faith, determination to make the world better, and compassion for all people. What an awesome God we have! Not only does He give us forgiveness and salvation through Christ Jesus, but He also blesses us in so many different ways in our everyday lives. This blog is meant to celebrate various people, places, and things that enrich my life, bring me happiness, or make me smile. There will be a wide variety of things on here, and they are not listed in any order of importance. Some are simple pleasures; some go deeper than that. This is the stuff I dig!
