Hummus

Hummus is a dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas, blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and garlic. It is wonderful on pita bread! It's popular throughout the Middle Eastern world. And there are many varieties of hummus at my local grocery store, so I am glad for that!

In my 4th year at the Sem, there was a big contingent of hummus fans among the 1st year guys. So, the Food Bank on campus started carrying garbanzo beans so they could make it. So, you see, a few people, when well-organized can make a difference. Even a culinary one.
